| Aceh is the westernmost province of Indonesia. Located in the north of Sumatra, its capital and largest city is Banda Aceh. Aceh borders the Indian Ocean to the west and the Strait of Malacca to the northeast. Its highest elevation is Mount Leuser, at 3,466 m (11,371 ft). The population of Aceh was 5,625,960 in 2024. Aceh boasts the greatest biodiversity in the Asia-Pacific region. | |
