Mount Hakodate is a 334-meter-high, tree-covered mountain at the southernmost tip of the peninsula, where much of downtown Hakodate is located. Especially on clear days and nights, the view from the mountain is spectacular and ranks among the top three most beautiful night views in Japan, along with Mount Inasa in Nagasaki and Mount Rokko in Kobe.
