Azerbaijan is a transcontinental country located at the boundary of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. Azerbaijan's 2019 population was 10,127,874. It is a part of the South Caucasus region, and is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia and Turkey to the west, and Iran to the south. Baku is the capital and largest city.

Ateshgah of Baku is a castle-like religious temple in Surakhani town (in Suraxanı raion), a suburb in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Baku Ateshgah is often called the "Fire Temple of Baku". Based on Persian inscriptions, the temple was used as a Hindu, Sikh, and Zoroastrian place of worship. "Atash" (آتش) is the Persian word for fire.
