| After many years of dedicated work by the Nassau County Historical Research and Collection Society, an opportunity arose to take a major step forward when a railroad memorabilia collector contacted the society seeking a permanent display space for his collection. The members unanimously agreed to accept the gift, and the museum was officially established. This took place in the fall of 2008. | |
