| Somoto is a city and municipality located in the northern hills of Nicaragua, and is the capital of Madriz Province. The city had a population of 40,322 in 2022. It is known as La Flor de Henequén (Henequén Flower) due to the cultivation of Henequén flowers in its suburbs. Somoto is also famous for producing rosquillas somoteñas, a type of crispy corn cracker with various flavors. | |
