| Mornington Island, also known as Kunhanhaa, is an island located in the Gulf of Carpentaria in Mornington District, Queensland, Australia. It is the northernmost and largest of the 22 islands that make up the Wellesley Islands archipelago, covering an area of 1,018 km² (393 sq mi). The island's population was 1,007 in 2001. The largest town, Gununa, is located in the southwest of the island. | |
