| Kandahar is a city in southern Afghanistan, the capital and largest city of Kandahar Province. The city had a permanent population of 732,629 in 2025. Kandahar is situated between the Arghandab and Tarnak rivers, at an elevation of approximately 1,010 m (3,310 ft) above sea level. It is the center of the larger cultural region known as Loy Kandahar. | |
