| Gargano National Park is located in the province of Foggia, in southern Italy. Besides the Gargano peninsula, the park also includes the Tremiti Islands and the Lago Salso wetlands. The park is home to many species of wild orchids, including several species of the genus Ophrys, also known as bee orchids. It is one of the most biodiverse areas in Western Europe, and boasts ancient oak trees up to 350 years old. | |
