The Furneaux Islands are a group of approximately 100 islands located east of the Bass Strait, between Victoria and Tasmania, Australia. The largest islands in the group are Flinders Island, Cape Barren Island, and Clarke Island. The population was 986 in 2021.
The islands are home to a wealth of wildlife and over 150 species of birds, including albatrosses and Cape Barren geese. For many plant and animal species, Flinders Island is Australia's southernmost habitat, while for others it is Australia's northernmost habitat.

Flinders Island, the largest island in the Furneaux Group, is a 1,367-square-kilometre (528 sq mi) island in the Bass Strait, northeast of the island of Tasmania. It’s as spectacularly wild and rugged as the people are warm and welcoming, and like its location, the experience is truly unique. It is 54 kilometres (34 mi) from Cape Portland.
