Elizabeth is both the largest city and the county seat of Union County, in New Jersey. The city had a total population of 129,216 in 2019. Elizabeth is situated in northeastern New Jersey, near the border with New York City. It is bordered by several other municipalities, including Newark to the north, Linden to the south, and Jersey City to the east across the Newark Bay.
Boxwood Hall State Historic Site is a historic site located in Elizabeth, New Jersey. It is a historic house that dates back to the 18th century. It was constructed in 1750 and served as the residence of Elias Boudinot, a prominent statesman and lawyer. Boudinot was a delegate to the Continental Congress and later served as the President of the Continental Congress from 1782 to 1783.
