Mount Burdell Open Space Preserve is a nature reserve in Marin County, California. Mount Burdell rises 1,558 feet (475 m) above sea level. Hidden Lake, a seasonal pond located about halfway to the top, is home to frogs, salamanders and other creatures during the wet season.
Dogbone Meadow is the City of Novato's only fenced-in off leash dog park. A 0.2 mile concrete walking path winds around a large area of sod turf (approximately 1 acre). Other features include agility equipment for dogs to enjoy. Brian's Place Gentle Play Area is a separate area designated for timid dogs, senior dogs, recovering dogs and small dogs.
The Hamilton Wetlands is a large scale wetland restoration site. With 3.5 miles of Bay Trail, the location is ideal for the community to enjoy nature alongside some of the Bay Area's most endangered ecosystems.
Stafford Lake Park is situated on the shores of Stafford Lake, three miles west of Novato, this 139-acre regional park serves large scale events, large picnics, musical performances, and other festivities.
Indian Tree Open Space Preserve offers 230 acres of hilly open space trails to hikers and those on horseback. The trailhead meanders through grasslands on the valley floor and fern-filled coastal woodlands.
