Lorain is a city in Lorain County, Ohio. It is located in Northeast Ohio on Lake Erie, at the mouth of the Black River about 25 miles (40 km) west of Cleveland. It had a population of 65,211 at the 2020 census. It is the most populous city in Lorain County. Lorain, Ohio, is known as “The International City” because the city is home to over 70 different nationalities.
