Place Muan County South Korea

Muan-gun is a county within Jeonnam-Gwangju City, South Korea. Its population was 92,009 in 2024. The red clay soil of Muan County is mainly distributed in Hyeongyeong, Mangun, Haeje, and Unnam counties, and partly in Muan, Illo, Samhyang, Mongtan, and Cheonggye counties. Because over 70% of its land area is covered by red clay, especially along the coast, Muan County in Jeonnam City is also known as the "Red Clay Area".
