West Rock Park spans over 1,700 acres along the basalt slopes of West Rock, rising more than 700 feet above the surrounding landscape. The park's seven-mile (11 km) westward-facing cliffs offer sweeping views of the entire New Haven metropolitan area and surrounding towns to the west.
