Khumbu Glacier, the world’s highest glacier and the largest glacier of Nepal stand at an elevation of 4,900m at its terminus and 7,600m at its source. It is a large debris-covered glacier which lies in between Mt Everest and Lhotse-Nuptse ridge in the Khumbu region. To the right side of the glacier, there is Everest Base Camp, where thousands of trekkers are lured to visit every year. | |

It is 12 km long and drained from western Cwm near Everest. The Khumbu glacier has a Khumbu Icefall at the west end of western Cwm. The Khumbu Glacier melts into the Lobujya (Lobuche) River of Nepal, which flows southward as the Imja River to its confluence with the Dudh Kosi River. | |
