Nepal is a country located in South Asia, bordered by India to the south and east, and China to the north. It had a population of 30,666,598 in 2022. Its capital and largest city is Kathmandu. Nepal has a diverse geography that includes the Himalayan mountain range, which includes Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, as well as lush forests, hills, and fertile plains.

Khumbu Glacier, the world’s highest glacier and the largest glacier of Nepal stand at an elevation of 4,900m at its terminus and 7,600m at its source. It is a large debris-covered glacier which lies in between Mt Everest and Lhotse-Nuptse ridge in the Khumbu region. To the right side of the glacier, there is Everest Base Camp, where thousands of trekkers are lured to visit every year.
