Lyons is a town in and the county seat of Wayne County, New York. The population was 3,989 at the 2020 census, down from 5,682 at the 2010 census. It is named after Lyon, France. The Town of Lyons is in the south-central part of the county and contains a hamlet also named Lyons, formerly a village. It is located on the Erie Canal.
