| The Museum is housed in the former Wayne County Jail and Sheriff's residence, built in 1855 and used until 1960. Two large cellblocks remain intact, featuring 18 original individual cells with inmate artwork and graffiti. Visitors will also learn about the sheriff and local government that maintained order in the new county from 1823 to today. | |
