Tawas Point State Park, located on the end of a sand spit that forms Tawas Bay along Lake Huron, is home to 183 acres of lakeside recreation and has been referred to as the “Cape Cod of the Midwest.” The park is a stopover site for hundreds of migrating birds in the spring and fall, making it a favorite spot for many bird watchers from all over the Midwest.

Rifle River Recreation Area is a state park located on the upper reaches of the Rifle River within the Au Sable State Forest in Ogemaw County, Michigan. Within these 4,000 acres of state park land, you’ll find amazing areas for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and lots of lakeside camping spots to make for an unforgettable weekend excursion!

Crisp Point was one of five Lake Superior U.S. Life-Saving Service Stations along the coast between Munising and Whitefish Point. It is located about 14.5 miles west of Whitefish Point. It was built in 1875 and became operational in 1876 as Life Saving Station Number Ten, of the U.S. Life-Saving Service District 10 (it was later part of District 11) .

Dow Gardens, located in Midland, Michigan, is a beautiful botanical garden and cultural attraction that spans 110 acres. The gardens are part of the larger Dow Gardens and Whiting Forest of Dow Gardens complex, which includes a wide range of plant collections, walking trails, and educational opportunities.
