| The Rifle River Recreation Area includes 159 campgrounds, numerous hiking trails, and lakes in the area for you to explore. The river basin also features two other national forest campgrounds, Rifle River National Forest and Hardwood Lake National Forest, each with its own campsite. The Rifle River is a hub of activity. There are 14 miles of trails for hiking, biking, or even skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Plenty of opportunities for trout fishing and lure fishing.
