The location of this camp makes it possible to discover all the activities and attractions at Huntington Lake, and it's an excellent base for further exploration of the Kaiser Wilderness.

The population was 634 at the 2010 census, down from 705 at the 2000 census.

Balsam Meadows Sno Park is located on the south side of Highway 168 east of Shaver Lake featuring cross-country skiing, dog sledding, and snowmobiling.
