One of the most iconic landmarks in Minneapolis, the Stone Arch Bridge is a former railroad bridge that crosses the Mississippi River and connects you to some of the most beautiful parts of the city. The Stone Arch is the only arched bridge made of stone on the entire length of the Mississippi River. It is the second oldest bridge on the river next to Eads Bridge.
Start at the Guthrie Theater and admire the stunning architecture. Head to Mill City Museum to see the ruins and learn about the infamous mill explosion of 1878. Catch the Mill City Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Then, head across the Stone Arch Bridge to get breathtaking views of the downtown skyline, the Mississippi River and the natural beauty that you typically don’t find within a city.
