| The bridge connects Nguyễn Hoàng Street in Kim Long Ward with Bùi Thị Xuân Street in Phường Đúc Ward, helping to improve traffic flow and ease congestion in the city center. It is the fifth bridge to cross the Perfume River in Huế and is part of a larger project to expand Nguyễn Hoàng Street. The design of the bridge is a steel arch with five spans, and it features a distinctive aesthetic that draws inspiration from the history and culture of the Nguyễn Dynasty. A prominent feature of the bridge is its lighting system, which includes 64 decorative poles shaped like imperial parasols ("lọng cung đình"). These parasols are a royal yellow color, symbolizing the power and grandeur of the Nguyen Lords, after whom the bridge is named. The artistic lighting system is designed to create a beautiful and captivating spectacle at night, with the warm golden lights reflecting on the river's surface. It accommodates six lanes for cars, two lanes for motorbikes, and two 3-meter-wide pedestrian lanes on each side. The main steel arch span is 180 meters long, and the bridge is designed to allow for a minimum navigation clearance of 30 meters wide and 6 meters high. | |
