Tường Long Pagoda (Chùa Tháp Tường Long) is a significant historical and cultural site in Hai Phong, Vietnam. Tường Long Pagoda is located on Long Son Mountain in Ngọc Xuyên ward, Đồ Sơn district, Hải Phòng city. It is approximately 22 kilometers from the center of Hai Phong city.
The original Tường Long Pagoda was built in 1058 during the reign of King Lý Thánh Tông of the Lý Dynasty. According to historical records, the king ordered its construction after a visit to the Do Son area, and named it "Tường Long" (Auspicious Dragon) after having a dream about a golden dragon.

Original Structure: The original tower was a grand structure, standing 45 meters tall on top of a hill about 100 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest towers in Vietnam at the time. It was a masterpiece of Lý Dynasty Buddhist architecture. It also served a practical purpose as a watchtower, part of a system to send warnings to the capital about suspicious offshore activities.

Destruction: The pagoda was renovated over the centuries but was eventually dismantled in the early 1800s to use its bricks for the construction of the Hai Duong Citadel. In 2008, a reconstruction project began on the site of the original ruins, which had been recognized as a national heritage site. The new nine-story pagoda, completed in 2017, was built to replicate the original Ly Dynasty style, incorporating artifacts and archaeological findings from the site.

Reconstruction: The reconstructed pagoda is a square, nine-story tower, standing 37.14 meters high. Its construction uses bricks and stones of various sizes, with unique decorative patterns featuring motifs like lotus, chrysanthemum, and lemon blossoms, which are characteristic of the Lý Dynasty.

Interior: The tower has a hollow interior, and on the first floor, there is a large Amitabha Buddha statue on a stone lotus base.

Complex: The pagoda is part of a larger complex that includes a stele house and an excavation site where many artifacts from the Lý Dynasty have been found and are now preserved. The complex also features three main Buddhist halls and a one-ton bronze bell.

Spiritual and Tourist Destination: Tường Long Pagoda is a popular pilgrimage site for Buddhists and a significant cultural landmark for tourists. Its elevated location on Long Son mountain offers panoramic views of the Do Son sea, green rice fields, and the surrounding scenery.
