Pier 26 Hudson River Greenway, New York, NY 10013 ☎ +1 212-627-2020 Last Updated: 09/13/2025 |
| Pier 26 at Hudson River Park is a 2.5-acre ecologically-themed pier in Tribeca, along the Hudson River. The idea behind it is to provide both a recreational space and an educational/ecological experience, reconnecting visitors with native landscape types and river ecology. | |
| Pier 26 has a “gradient” of five native habitat/ecological zones, leading from upland to river edge: woodland forest, coastal grassland, maritime scrub, rocky tidal zone, and then the Marshall/Hudson River edge itself. At the western edge (river-side), there is a Tide Deck: a cultivated rocky salt marsh and intertidal zone. It offers immersive views of the ecology of the river, and there's a walkway above parts of it. A themed playground aimed at children: two large play-structures shaped like endangered sturgeon species, with educational features inside. Climbing, slides, interactive marine life-inspired design. | |
