Peng Chau is a small island located off the north-eastern coast of Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It is known locally for its temples, fishing industry and seafood. Peng Chau has an area of 0.99 km2 (0.38 sq mi) and a perimeter of about 5 km (3.1 mi). The tallest point of the island is Finger Hill (手指山), which is 95 m (312 ft) in height. In 2003, the island underwent land degradation restorative work.
Peng Chau was first inhabited by the Tanka people, a group of seafaring people who originated from Guangdong Province in mainland China. The island was later settled by people from other parts of Hong Kong, including the Hakka and Cantonese people.

Peng Chau was a major fishing village in the past. The island's fishing industry declined in the 1970s and 1980s, but it has since recovered somewhat.

Peng Chau is a popular tourist destination, especially among locals. The island is home to a number of temples, including Tin Hau Temple, which is the oldest temple on the island. Peng Chau also has a number of beaches, including Tung Wan Beach, which is the largest beach on the island.

Peng Chau is accessible by ferry from Central Pier 6. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes.
