Antananarivo, often simply referred to as Tana, is the capital and largest city of Madagascar. It is located in the central highlands of the island and serves as the political, economic, and cultural hub of the country. Its population was 1,275,207 in 2018.

Ranomafana National Park is in the southeastern part of Madagascar in Haute Matsiatra and Vatovavy-Fitovinany. With more than 41,600 hectares (161 square miles) of tropical rainforest, it is home to several rare species of flora and fauna including the golden bamboo lemur, the greater bamboo lemur, black and white ruffed lemur and Milne-Edwards sifaka, and over 130 species of frogs.

Isalo National Park is a national park located in the Ihorombe region of Madagascar. It features a landscape of sandstone formations eroded by wind and water, creating rocky outcrops, plateaus, vast plains, and canyons up to 200 meters deep.

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is a 155 square kilometre protected area, located about 150 km east of Antananarivo. The park consists principally of primary growth forest in Alaotra-Mangoro Region in eastern Madagascar.

Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park is a unique and spectacular conservation area located in western Madagascar. It is renowned for its distinctive limestone formations, rugged landscapes, and rich biodiversity. The national park focuses on two geological formations: the Greater Tsingy and the Lesser Tsingy.

The Avenue of Baobabs, or Baobab Alley, is a prominent cluster of Grandidier baobab trees. These baobab trees grow along the dirt road between Morondava and Belon'i Tsiribihina in the Menabe region of western Madagascar.
