Antananarivo, often simply referred to as Tana, is the capital and largest city of Madagascar. It is located in the central highlands of the island and serves as the political, economic, and cultural hub of the country. Its population was 1,275,207 in 2018.

Ranomafana National Park is in the southeastern part of Madagascar in Haute Matsiatra and Vatovavy-Fitovinany. With more than 41,600 hectares (161 square miles) of tropical rainforest, it is home to several rare species of flora and fauna including the golden bamboo lemur, the greater bamboo lemur, black and white ruffed lemur and Milne-Edwards sifaka, and over 130 species of frogs.

Isalo National Park is a National Park in the Ihorombe Region of Madagascar. It is a sandstone landscape that has been dissected by wind and water erosion into rocky outcrops, plateaus, extensive plains and up to 200 m deep canyons.

Andasibe-Mantadia National Park is a 155 square kilometre protected area, located about 150 km east of Antananarivo. The park consists principally of primary growth forest in Alaotra-Mangoro Region in eastern Madagascar.

Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park is a unique and visually striking protected area located in western Madagascar. It is known for its distinctive limestone formations, rugged landscape, and rich biodiversity. The national park centers on two geological formations: the Great Tsingy and the Little Tsingy.

The Avenue of the Baobabs, or Alley of the Baobabs, is a prominent group of Grandidier's baobabs. The Baobabs are lining the dirt road between Morondava and Belon'i Tsiribihina in the Menabe region of western Madagascar.
