Can Tho is a vibrant city located in the southwestern region of Vietnam. The city is situated in the heart of the Mekong Delta, the largest rice-producing region in Vietnam. It is located about 169 kilometers (105 miles) southwest of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), making it easily accessible from the country's largest city. Can Tho had an estimated population of 1,5 million as of 2012.

Chợ nổi Cái Răng (Cai Rang Floating Market) is located on Cai Rang river, it's about 6km from Can Tho City. Visitors can take aboat from Ninh Kieu Wharf and it takes 30 minutes to get there.
