Lăng Ông Thủy Tướng in Cần Giờ, Ho Chi Minh City, is a historically and spiritually significant site dedicated to Cá Ông (a whale revered as a sea deity by local fishermen). This shrine, located on Hoàng Hoa Thám Street, houses a spectacular 12-meter-long whale skeleton, known as "ngọc cốt," which symbolizes protection and blessings for seafarers.
Built in 1911, the site features traditional Vietnamese architectural designs, including intricately carved altars and displays in tủ kính (glass cabinets). Besides Cá Ông, the shrine honors other sea deities such as Hà Bá and Thủy Quang, reflecting the deep connection between local culture and maritime traditions.
