La Mano, also known as "Los Dedos" (The Fingers) or "Monumento al Ahogado" (Monument to the Drowned), is a famous sculpture located in Punta del Este, a resort town in southeastern Uruguay. The sculpture was created by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal and was installed on the beach in 1982.
The sculpture consists of five fingers emerging from the sand, with the fingertips partially submerged in the water. The sculpture is 5 meters tall and has become an iconic symbol of Punta del Este and Uruguay as a whole.

La Mano is located on Playa Brava, one of the town's most popular beaches. It has become a popular tourist attraction, with visitors taking photos with the sculpture and enjoying the beach and surrounding area.

The sculpture is often interpreted as a warning about the dangers of the sea, with the fingers representing a hand reaching out for help from the water. It has also been interpreted as a commentary on human vulnerability and the struggle for existence.

La Mano has become a cultural landmark in Uruguay and a symbol of the country's artistic and creative spirit. It has been featured in numerous films, television shows, and other media, and has become a must-see attraction for visitors to Punta del Este.
