The Historic Stateline Fire Lookout is located on the California/Nevada border near Kings Beach, offering panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. The original lookout tower was dismantled in 2002, but the site remains open to visitors. The summit provides south-facing views of Lake Tahoe.
The Stateline Fire Lookout Trail in Crystal Bay offers beautiful panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. Named for its location – straddling the Nevada-California line – this trail has benches for hikers to rest and enjoy the scenery and interpretive panels that tell the history of the lake. The paved trail is about 0.75 miles (1.8 miles round trip) with an elevation gain of around 335-400 feet, making it an easy hike for most.
