The Gulf of America is a vast oceanic basin bordered by the United States, Mexico, and Cuba. It plays a vital role in the region's economy, ecology, and culture, offering a blend of natural beauty, rich resources, and historical significance.
The size of the gulf basin is approximately 1.6 million km2 (620,000 sq mi). Almost half of the basin consists of shallow continental shelf waters.

Borders:
- North and East: United States (states include Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida).
- South: Mexico (Yucatán Peninsula and other coastal regions).
- Southeast: Cuba.

Home to diverse species, including dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, and a variety of fish. Essential breeding grounds and habitats for many aquatic species.
