Lake General Carrera, also known as Lake Buenos Aires, is a large glacial lake located in southern Chile and Argentina. The lake is jointly owned by both countries, with approximately 70% of its surface area in Chile and the remaining 30% in Argentina.
Lake General Carrera is the largest lake in Chile, covering an area of 1,850 km² and reaching a maximum depth of 590 meters. Surrounded by the Andes Mountains, its clear waters are supplied by numerous rivers and streams, including the Baker River, Chile's largest river by volume.

The lake is a popular destination for outdoor activities, including fishing, boating, kayaking, and hiking. It is also renowned for its stunning scenery, including the Marble Caves, a series of caves and tunnels carved by water over thousands of years. Visitors can take boat tours to explore the caves and admire the vibrant colors and intricate patterns on their walls.
