Grant Grove is a spectacular area within Kings Canyon National Park in Fresno County, California. Located at an elevation of approximately 6,600 feet (2,000 m), it has warm summers, cool nights, and snowy winters. It is particularly famous for its giant sequoia trees, including the famous General Grant (one of the world's largest trees by volume).
Access to the lookout is via Highway 180 from Fresno.
- North Grove Loop: About 1.5 miles (2.4 km), a quiet walk through a mixed conifer and sequoia forest.
- General Grant Tree Trail: About 0.5 km of paved trail to the base of the General Grant Tree. Easily accessible.
- Big Stump Trail: A 2-mile loop through a forest that was logged in the late 19th century—an interesting contrast that shows the impact of humans.
