| Fire Island, 31 miles long, is one of the barrier islands off the southern coast of Long Island in New York State. Fire Island is part of Suffolk County. The island is located within the towns of Babylon, Islip, and Brookhaven, and comprises two villages and several smaller hamlets. According to the 2020 census, the island's permanent population was 777. | |
