Antofagasta is a port city in northern Chile, located approximately 1,100 km north of Santiago. It is the capital of Antofagasta Province and the Antofagasta Region. Known as the "Pearl of Northern Chile," Antofagasta is famous for its beaches and the natural monument of La Portada. The city's population was 401,096 in 2024.
