| The palace is a blend of traditional Vietnamese and French colonial architectural styles, reflecting the influence of both cultures on Vietnam at the time. It is surrounded by lush gardens and features several buildings, including a throne hall, a reception hall, and living quarters for the emperor and his family. During the Vietnam War, the palace was used as a residence and office by several South Vietnamese leaders, including President Nguyen Van Thieu. After the fall of Saigon in 1975, the palace was used a government building and later as a school. In 1991, An Dinh Palace was officially recognized as a national historic site by the Vietnamese government, and significant restoration work was undertaken to preserve the site's cultural heritage. Today, the palace is open to the public as a museum and tourist attraction, offering visitors a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of Vietnam's imperial past. | |
