| Castroville is a small city in Monterey County, California, United States. It is located about 110 miles south of San Francisco and about 17 miles northwest of the city of Salinas. Castroville is known as the "Artichoke Center of the World" because it is the primary location for artichoke cultivation in the United States. At the time of the 2020 census the population was 7,515, up from 6,481 in 2010. | |
| The city also hosts an annual Artichoke Festival, which draws visitors from all over the world. Other notable attractions in Castroville include the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, and the Pinnacles National Park. | |
