| The California Living Museum, also known as CALM, is a zoo and botanical garden located in Bakersfield, California. It is dedicated to the conservation of California native animals and plants, and serves as a center for wildlife education and research. | |
| CALM features exhibits of over 80 animal species, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and invertebrates, all of which are native to California. Visitors can see animals such as black bears, coyotes, mountain lions, bobcats, and various species of birds and reptiles up close in naturalistic habitats. In addition to the animal exhibits, CALM also features a botanical garden with over 250 species of plants native to California. The garden includes several themed areas, such as a desert garden, a woodland garden, and a riparian habitat. CALM offers educational programs for both children and adults, including guided tours, animal encounters, and summer camps. The museum is open daily except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
