Ali Qapu is a royal palace in Isfahan, Iran. Located west of Naqsh-e Jahan Square, opposite the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, it was originally designed as a grand gateway leading to the magnificent palace complex that stretched from the square to Chaharbagh Avenue. Ali Qapu is considered the finest example of Safavid architecture and a symbol of Iran's Islamic heritage.
