Candlestick Point State Recreation Area has a public pier from which anglers catch halibut, jack smelt, striped bass, perch, sturgeon, leopard sharks, or bat rays, depending on the season. Many dabbling and diving ducks migrate from Canada and Alaska to overwinter in the warmer waters of the San Francisco Bay, making our park an important stop on the Pacific Flyway.
At Candlestick, a new chapter in San Francisco’s story unfolds— a diverse, community-driven neighborhood that weaves together the area’s proud legacy and an innovative vision for a vibrant, accessible waterfront future.
