Placer County is a county located in Northern California and is part of the Sacramento metropolitan area. It is bordered by the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east and encompasses a diverse range of landscapes, including mountains, forests, lakes, and the Sacramento Valley. As of the 2020 census, the population was 404,739.
Just off Interstate 80, high in the Sierras, you’ll find a crystal clear reservoir surrounded by pines and providing recreational opportunities galore. Lake Valley Reservoir within the PG&E reservoir system, is on the North Fork of the American River. It sits at an elevation of 5,840 feet and when full, holds 8,000 acre-feet of water.
