Ray Roberts Lake State Park is made up of two state parks, a 20 mile Greenbelt, six satellite boat launches, a lodge and a marina. The lake is surrounded by the state park, wildlife management areas, wetlands and waterfowl sanctuaries.
Pilot Knoll Park is a waterfront park on Lake Lewisville. It is located on the western side of the lake in the town of Highland Village. There are two sides to the park. One side is the large day use area with the boat ramp. The other side is for camping and RV-ing.

In 2000, the census population was at 3,646. By the10 20 census, the city total had jumped to 25,898, making Little Elm one of the fastest-growing municipalities by percentage in Texas since 2000.
