Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve is an urban park in San Diego, California. Stretching approximately 7mi, the park encompasses some 4000acre of both Penasquitos and Lopez canyons, and is one of the largest urban parks in the United States.

Established in the late 1960s, Mira Mesa has a population of 80,000, including young homeowners, families, military members, students and single people. The community is surrounded by a range of recreational activities and eight community parks including a teen center, senior center, recreation center, ice arena, and an aquatic complex.
