Junction is a city in and the county seat of Kimble County, Texas. Its population was 2,451 at the 2020 census. Junction is full of friendly locals as well as fun and exciting activities like kayaking, canoeing and tubing, unobstructed night skies, hiking, hunting, fishing, birdwatching, sightseeing, shopping, and of course, just plain relaxing.
Kimble County is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 4,286. Its county seat is Junction. Live oak, shin oak, pecan, walnut, and cedar trees grow among the mesquite and sedge grasses that cover the county. Wildlife includes deer, javelinas, rabbits, roadrunners, mockingbirds, and rattlesnakes.
South Llano River State Park is a 2600 acre state park located along the South Llano River in Kimble County, Texas. It provides refuge for wildlife and people on the southwestern edge of the Hill Country. Many folks come to the park to swim, float, paddle and fish the South Llano River.
