| Antigua Guatemala is a charming colonial town and one of the most beautiful communities in Latin America. The city was founded by Spanish settlers in 1543, and soon thereafter became the seat of Captain General of Guatemala. It sits at an elevation of 1,545 m (5,069 ft). The city had 60,608 inhabitants in 2023, up from 34,685 in 2007. | |
