At the far southeast corner of Texas lies a remote and unique coastal park. Sea Rim State Park has nearly 2 miles of Gulf shoreline and 4,000 acres of marshlands. At this park, you can camp, go birding and beach combing, paddle in a canoe or kayak, swim, fish, hunt (in season) and walk. Stroll along the Gambusia Nature Trail Boardwalk, which takes you through the marsh.
Spindletop Boomtown Museum takes visitors back in time to experience what life was like on the hill for the workers, the deal makers, and families who called this area home during the early 20th century boom days. The museum is on the campus of Lamar University, which owns and operates the museum.
