| Vardzia is a spectacular complex of cave monasteries dating back to the 12th century in southern Georgia, excavated from the slopes of Mount Erusheti on the left bank of the Kura River. The caves stretch along the cliff face for about 500 meters and have up to nineteen levels. The monastery was once an important cultural center, where many significant literary and artistic activities took place. | |
