The Balearic Islands are an archipelago in the western Mediterranean Sea, near the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. Its population was 1,231,768 in 2024. The archipelago forms a province and autonomous community of Spain, with Palma de Mallorca being its capital and largest city.
There are plenty of things to do in Mallorca. Its capital, Palma, is perfect for walking or cycling and offers an incredible variety of cultural plans: tapas in the old town, strolling through the Jewish Quarter and visiting monuments such as the Cathedral, the Royal Palace of the Almudaina or the Museum of Contemporary Art are a great place to start.

But there’s more: Mallorca is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean and a mountain range that crosses it from east to west, where you can find beautiful traditional villages once inhabited by renowned artists and writers.

Mallorca is also a pleasure that melts on the palate, so don't forget to visit one of its wineries and enjoy the island's delicious gastronomy.
