The Archaeological Site of Olympia, located in the Peloponnese region of Greece, is one of the most important ancient sanctuaries in the world. Known as the birthplace of the Olympic Games, it served as a major cultural and religious center in ancient Greece.
- Temple of Zeus is dedicated to the chief Greek god Zeus, it housed one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: the colossal statue of Zeus, created by the sculptor Phidias. The temple is built in the Doric style, it was a monumental symbol of Greek architecture.

- Temple of Hera is older than the Temple of Zeus, this structure was dedicated to the goddess Hera. It played a central role in ancient rituals, including the lighting of the Olympic flame.

- The site of the ancient Olympic Games, the stadium could accommodate around 40,000 spectators. The starting and finishing lines of the track are still visible.

- Philippeion is a circular memorial dedicated to Philip II of Macedon and his family, built during the late Classical period. It is a unique blend of political propaganda and artistic achievement.

The entire gate is about 10 feet wide and high and two lions under a triangle are inscribed on a stone above the entrance gate. The lions in the inscription are believed to have had heads of metal but these were plundered a long time ago.
